

In 1976, Mr. Carr founded Westbrooke Communities, a land development and single-family home-building company that quickly catapulted into the ranks of Florida’s largest and most respected builders. In its first year of operation, Westbrooke built 101 homes, and thereafter built an average of more than 1,000 homes per year, ultimately completing more than 15,000 homes. In 1998, Mr. Carr sold Westbrooke Communities, and continued to serve as President and CEO until 2001.
In 2001, Mr. Carr formed Carr Residential for the purpose of developing infill locations and multi-family communities throughout South Florida. Completed projects include Hampton Isles, a townhome community with 229 units in Pembroke Pines; Villas at Harbor Isles, a townhome project with 429 units in Dania Beach; Cocoplum, a townhome community with 57 units in Dania Beach; and Treo, a townhouse
community with 131 units in Miramar.
In 2008, Mr. Carr formed CC Devco Homes, a partnership with Armando Codina. CC Devco Homes was formed with the purpose of purchasing and developing master-planned communities throughout Florida. Current projects include Monterra in Cooper City, which at 525 acres is the largest undeveloped parcel in Broward County; Foxcroft, 620 homes in Miramar; and Yellow Bluff, 680 homes in Jacksonville.
An active member of the South Florida community, Mr. Carr has been extremely involved with Baptist Health South Florida over the past 20 years. Currently he is on the Board of Trustees, a member of the Executive Committee of the Board, Chairman of Baptist Health Enterprises (the for-profit subsidiary), Chairman of the Board’s Investment Committee, and a member of the Finance, Facilities, and Compensation committees. Mr. Carr is also past president of the Builders Association of South Florida (1986) and a recipient of numerous industry-related awards.
